How Our Lasers Work
At New Med Spa, our laser and light-based skin treatments implement the latest technology to rejuvenate and refine your skin.
Broadband Light (BBL)
These treatments use intense pulsed light to target various skin concerns, such as age spots and visible veins. This, in turn, gives clients a youthful complexion.
The MicroLaserPeel (MLP)
Our providers use the MLP’s laser energy to remove the outer layers of the skin to smooth out surface concerns and even out the texture of your skin.
Halo
This laser treatment combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to address surface texture and deeper skin concerns. It gives our providers a customizable method for improving our clients’ skin health.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Skin Treatments
The length of your appointment will vary depending on the specific treatment you’re receiving. For BBL treatments, appointments typically last from a few minutes to up to an hour. For MLP treatments, the appointment begins with the application of a topical numbing medicine, which takes about 15 to 30 minutes, followed by the treatment itself, which usually lasts around 30 minutes. For Halo treatments, we apply a topical numbing medicine that takes approximately 30 minutes, and the treatment takes 45 minutes or more to complete.
The recovery time after your treatment varies depending on the type of procedure you get. BBL treatments have no downtime, allowing you to resume your daily activities immediately. MLP treatments require a recovery period of 1 to 7 days, depending on the size and scope of the treated area. Halo treatments typically require 3 to 7 days for recovery. During this time, clients may experience skin tightness, redness, and swelling similar to a sunburn. By days 2 and 3, the skin may develop a bronzing, sandpaper-like texture due to MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) coming to the surface. These particles usually fall off by days 4 to 7.
The number of treatments you will need depends on the type of procedure and your individual goals. For BBL and MLP treatments, we generally recommend 1 to 3 sessions. Halo treatments are personalized to meet your unique goals, so some clients may only need a single session, while others might benefit from a series of treatments.
For BBL treatments, clients typically see results within 1 to 3 weeks. With MLP treatments, full results usually appear within a few days to a few weeks. For Halo treatments, initial results are noticeable 2 to 5 days after the procedure, with skin clarity continuing to improve over time.
Broadband Light (BBL) Treatment
The BBL treatment treats a wide array of skin concerns including age spots, freckles, rosacea, and visible veins. By emitting intense pulsed light, this treatment can correct discoloration and enhance the youthfulness of the skin. Clients often notice a significant reduction in signs of sun damage.
MicroLaserPeel (MLP)
Focusing primarily on surface-level imperfections, the MLP refines the texture of the skin by removing the outermost layers to promote naturally rejuvenating healing. This treatment helps smooth fine lines, erase mild wrinkles, and reduce the visibility of enlarged pores.
Halo Laser Treatment
Our Halo laser combats superficial and deeper skin concerns. It uses a combination of ablative and non-ablative laser techniques. Ablative laser resurfacing removes the top layer of skin and helps with pronounced skin issues such as scarring and hyperpigmentation. Non-ablative laser resurfacing targets the tissue beneath the first layer of skin for collagen stimulation.
